FAQ’S

  1. How do I know which version of Quickbooks to get?

The first thing you should consider is who will be keeping your books.  If it is an existing employee, then you may want to use QuickBooks Desktop.  If you will be using an outside bookkeeper like me, then you should consider QuickBooks Online so that you won’t need a workstation in your place of business just for the bookkeeper.  There are different levels of software within each of those categories, please see the documents below to compare features within each category:

  1. How do I know when I need a bookkeeper?

If you are spending more than 7-8 hours a week on your financials, it could be beneficial to outsource those tasks so that you can concentrate on your small business.  A bookkeeper can often perform the same tasks in a shorter amount of time due to experience.

  1. What is the advantage to using a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for my bookkeeping and consulting?

QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor’s not only pass several exams that cover all of the versions of QuickBooks, but they also have additional resources and discounts available to their clients.

  1. How will I get started on your books?

We will need to have an initial phone consultation to discuss which version of QuickBooks you have along with any additional applications that you may be using.  We will also need to discuss your expectations, i.e. payroll must be run on Wednesdays, need bank reconciliations done by 10 days after receipt, etc. We can then decide an hourly budget for each month, and I will do everything within my power to adhere to that budget, so that you can accurately plan your expenses.

  1. What if I have more questions that you didn’t answer here?

Please call, email or request a consultation with me and we discuss your specific questions.
